1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all customers and users of HostKum services. Violations may result in immediate suspension, termination without refund, and legal action where appropriate.
By using HostKum, you agree to comply with this AUP. We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not host, transmit, or distribute:
- Illegal content in any jurisdiction where it is hosted or accessed
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance, immediate report to authorities
- Content promoting violence, terrorism, or illegal weapons
- Hate speech or harassment targeting individuals or groups
- Pirated or copyright-infringing content (see DMCA Policy)
- Counterfeit goods, fraudulent schemes, or pyramid/MLM structures
- Privacy-violating content (doxxing, non-consensual intimate imagery, stalking aids)
3. Prohibited Activities
Network abuse
- Spam (unsolicited bulk email or messaging)
- Phishing, identity theft, or fraudulent communications
- Malware, ransomware, viruses, trojans, or spyware distribution
- Botnets, command-and-control servers, or compromised systems
- Port scanning, vulnerability probing of third-party systems without authorization
- DDoS or any form of network attack
- Open mail relays, open proxies, or anonymous services that enable abuse
Resource abuse
- Cryptocurrency mining of any kind on shared hosting
- IPTV streaming, video relays, or large-scale media streaming on shared plans
- Public file-sharing or warez sites
- Tor exit nodes or relays on shared hosting
- Excessive use of CPU, RAM, I/O, or inodes that affects other customers
Account abuse
- Creating multiple accounts to evade resource limits or bans
- Reselling shared hosting (use a reseller plan instead)
- Sharing account credentials with unauthorized parties
- Misrepresenting your identity at signup
4. Email Use
- Email volume: 200 outbound messages per hour per account on shared hosting
- All bulk mailings must come from opt-in lists with verifiable consent
- Compliance with CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, and equivalent regional laws is required
- Every marketing email must include valid unsubscribe links
5. Backup & Storage Limits
Backup space provided by HostKum is for backups of your hosted website only. Using backup storage as a primary file dump, archive service, or media library is not permitted and may result in cleanup or suspension.
6. Enforcement
If we believe you have violated this AUP we may, at our discretion:
- Issue a warning and require corrective action
- Restrict, suspend, or disable specific features (e.g., outbound email)
- Suspend the entire account pending investigation
- Terminate the account permanently without refund
- Cooperate with law enforcement and provide records as legally required
For urgent or severe violations (e.g., CSAM, active malware, ongoing attacks), we may suspend without prior notice.
7. Reporting Abuse
If you believe HostKum is hosting content or activity that violates this AUP, send a report to abuse@hostkum.com with:
- A description of the violation
- Your contact information
- Any supporting evidence (logs, screenshots)
